The Hotspot Community Resource Centre(Squamish): The Hotspot’s mission is:-To be a learning space where access to technology, information and volunteering supports personal and community development.-To provide assistance to both individual citizens & non-profit groups and organizations regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, social or economic background.-To meet needs that are common to all local non-profit organizations: for volunteers, information sharing, access to technology, training & space in the -community.-To provide services and programs that build the capacity of the community, citizens & community groups to sustain themselves and meet their own needs.-To assist individuals to access information, opportunities, skills, training & support so they can participate more fully in community life and in the structures that govern them.-To connect groups and individuals through information sharing and the use of information technology.-To support and facilitate Community Development projects that:-Encourage grass roots civic involvement and engagement-Build individual & community capacity-Facilitate community cohesion & partnerships
