Ary Dalton (Las Vegas): Its all about perspective. And I dont mean just angles and framing. Im talking about real, genuine, life perspective. For example, when I am shooting a wedding and I get a shot of the bride hugging her grandpa. To them, at the time, the hug is nice and all but its just a hug. No big deal. But now lets change perspective to a few months later. Grandpa has passed away. Now, a hug that wasnt that big of a deal is something that bride would pay any price to relive again. Unfortunately I have had more than one bride contact me with this exact scenario. They both asked me for any and all footage I had of grandpa on camera. It didnt matter if it was uneventful, out of focus, or shaky. Perspective changed, and the footage was priceless. I think about this stuff all the time. Not in a sad or depressed way, but in a grateful way. I think that we are lucky enough to be here and now with the people we love, and one day we might give anything to relive this very moment.
